Outdoor showers come in a number of styles, designs and price ranges. They are easy and enjoyable to use and can be a perfect addition to the home landscape or for travel purposes. You may want to purchase a cheap outdoor shower for use while on vacation or when camping. Or you might be interested in installing one of the more expensive models near your swimming pool at home.
Inexpensive showers can be found for less than $100.00. Many of these inexpensive models can run off of a garden hose when at home or can be hooked up to a nozzle via a hose when traveling. Provided you have access to a faucet when traveling then you can have a shower.
Most people decide to use these kinds of showers at home in conjunction with their swimming pool amenities. Having such a shower available for those who have come out of the pool lets people rinse off the chemicals from the pool, helping keep skin healthier in the long run.
These kinds of pools are often found at beaches as well, allowing swimmers to rise off salt water residue after coming out of the water. They can be great for getting rid of sand that cakes onto the skin as well. Many such showers also have a valve lower to the ground that allows people to rise off their feet.
Most inexpensive shower models don’t provide heated water for bathers. Since they run off of a garden hose at home, the water cannot easily be heated. When they are placed in public locations like beaches and the like, the facilities may include a heat source for making the shower water more comfortable for bathers. In fact, many such facilities now include solar powered heating sources, which could be an option for your home outdoor shower as well.
More expensive models can be found that are full shower units. There are many different styles of shower enclosures to be found as well. You can choose between a fully enclosed unit with walls that prevent viewing form outside of the shower, or an outdoor shower enclosure that only limits the spray of water but does not block the view of others in the vicinity of the shower.
These pricier models, which can often cost a few thousand dollars, are usually heated and are typically installed in a home landscape, often right next to a swimming pool or deck. They require regular plumbing and electricity or gas in order to provide heat for the water supply, unless you decide to use solar power, in which case no gas or electrical lines would need to be installed.
It’s important to keep in mind that the outdoor shower fixtures you include in your unit, regardless of the kind of outdoor shower you purchase, should be stainless steel. This will prevent rusting of the fixtures when they are exposed to the weather.
